Banking with The Registry CollectionFor Hearthstone co-owners Cheryl Meinzer and Brad Livingston, living in California does not make coming to Hearthstone an easy weekend retreat. However, thanks to The Registry Collection, a program that offers luxury travel experiences to its affiliate members, Meinzer and Livingston dedicate at least two weeks a year to Hearthstone and trade their remaining weeks for an opportunity to visit The Registry's desirable properties around the globe. Meinzer and Livingston, like all Hearthstone owners, qualify as members to The Registry Collection for an annual fee of only $250. As both of them agree, the program is very easy to navigate. Reservation Consultants are available around the clock to assist you with making travel arrangements and recommending destinations. According to Meinzer, "The Registry is extremely user friendly. The Reservation Consultants really know their product! You can call them up anytime and ask about reports from recent member travels." Brad and Susanne Livingston did just that and ended up spending a wonderful vacation at the Pine Cliffs Resort in Portugal. With a daughter studying abroad in Madrid, the Livingston's were looking for a resort property that was only a quick hop away. The Pine Cliffs Resort, located on Portugal's Algarvian coastline and situated against the Pine Cliffs Golf and Country Club had everything they were looking for. "Although it was winter when we went, the weather was very nice. We sat on the beach, and watched the sunset from atop the Pine Cliffs on the Sunset Deck," they explain. As for the last hole on the golf course, "You have to cross the ocean to get to the green!" The Livingston's stayed in a three bedroom, three bathroom unit that normally rents for 1,250.00 Euros per night. The Registry Collection's website offers an extensive overview of each exclusive property. When making a request, there is an exchange fee of $250, but as Meinzer points out, The Registry will not charge you until your request has been fulfilled. Other time trade companies will charge you the request fee whether your request is fulfilled or not. And for travelers with flexible itineraries, The Registry offers Last Call Get-A-Ways. "Go through the Last Call Get-A-Ways section if you are able to travel on short notice," advises Meinzer. "There are many fabulous places you can travel to for unbeatable deals. If you have the flexibility (and the money at the time), go and play!" Meinzer's next exciting travel? The Marcliffe at Pitfodels in Scotland, right in the heart of Scotland's Castle and Whiskey Country...
HOA 2010 Budget and Conference Call RecapThank you to everyone who participated in our owner conference calls on December 9 and 10, 2009. More than 50% of Hearthstone owners participated in these calls, which were an effective way for us to ensure that all owners had an opportunity to fully review the annual operating budgets for 2010, ask questions and also access an on-line presentation with information on resort operations, maintenance, refurbishment, rentals and re-sales. The overall feedback from owners about these calls was very positive, and we plan to host similar calls in subsequent years after the annual budget is set. We established the 2010 operating budgets with no increase in assessments. Although the budget is very tight, we are confident that we can manage the property to our owners' expectations and ask for everyone's assistance and cooperation in conserving utilities (electricity, water and gas) during each and every stay. We will continue to look for every opportunity to save and reduce expenses next year and beyond, but it is not realistic to expect that we will be able to hold the budgets at their current levels in future years. Should an owner have any outstanding questions or comments regarding the budgets or the information that was shared during the conference calls, please contact the Resort Manager.
Rental Update & SpecialsThere's no doubt that Brundage gets more snow than most ski resorts in Idaho. This year's 155" proves it. And for skiers looking for comfortable, well appointed accommodations that are close to town and the lifts, it's no wonder that Hearthstone Resort is the lodging choice for many winter enthusiasts looking to vacation in the McCall area. Hearthstone is well known throughout McCall for the high level of service provided to its renters and guests. With on site property management seven days a week for each of its 20 private homes, renters have all the service they need on a daily basis. Hearthstone renters also have the opportunity to book more than one home so that larger groups of family and friends can vacation in homes right next door to each other. The current nightly rate through April 1st, 2010 is $250 for a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home. With homes still available for rent through the ski season, please contact Hearthstone Owner Services 800-574-6377 to book a reservation.
Re-Sale Opportunities2009 was a great year for buyers looking to purchase a fractional interest at Hearthstone, with a total of five re-sales taking place throughout the year. With 2010 underway, there are a limited number of listings available in the $50,000 range for a 1/8 interest in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home. Pricing has never been better at Hearthstone. For more details about Hearthstone or to schedule a tour of the resort and learn more about fractional ownership, please contact Ginnell Hellhake with Community Real Estate at (208) 315-1096.
Hearthstone Home Update! This spring, Hearthstone will be converting two of the Aspen pet home dens to bedrooms. The sofa sleepers in the dens will be replaced with queen size beds, allowing for these two homes to sleep ten people rather than eight. The rooms will look very similar to the 3rd bedroom in homes 19/20 and will also provide a more comfortable sleeping arrangement for the 3rd bedroom.
Hearthstone Recommendations: Steamers RestaurantThis downtown restaurant, located on East Lake Street, is known for fantastic Pacific Northwest cuisine. Featuring a variety of fresh seafood, steaks and salads, Steamers' excellent food combined with great, friendly service, makes this cozy spot one of Hearthstone's favorites. Try the Walnut and Pear Salad, delicious French Onion Soup, Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Halibut and a bottle of wine from The Cork Wine Bar's extensive wine list. If you can, leave room for one of Steamers' impressive desserts. Can't make up your mind? Take one of Steamers' Starters, like the Baked Scallops Parmesan and turn it into a satisfying Entree. There's really something on the menu for everyone whether you're stopping by for Happy Hour (which runs daily from 5pm - 6pm) or hosting a large party (Steamers can accommodate semi-private parties up to 22 people). Be sure to treat yourself to this superb fine dining experience next time you're in McCall.
Coming Up in McCall: February & March EventsThe McCall Winter Carnival may have come to an end, but that doesn't mean things are slowing down in town. From on-going live music events to the Brundage Winter Games there's lots to keep you going both indoors and outdoors. Here's a quick summary of some of those upcoming events.
